    Just two hills!

    Every year on the last Sunday in April, we produce a world class half marathon race. It started out as a club event by members who were running in a half marathon sponsored by the La Jolla Town Council some four decades ago. Under the tender loving care of our club, this small local event grew into what it is today: A runner's festival for over 7000 participants every yer!     Pancakes Anyone?

    Every 3rd Saturday in July for the past 12 years, our club invites our neighbors to join us at breakfast. Childred 10 and under are free! For detail of our last event, please see the write up in the La Jolla Light

The San Diego Police Department

 

Chief Zimmerman will talk about community policing and how we collaborate with the community to police the 8th largest city in the country.  She will also discuss the Department of Justice assessment report and Body Worn Cameras.

PANCAKE BREAKFAST  -- We are in the home stretch -- July 25Pancake Breakfast in conjunction with the 100-year celebration of the La Jolla Recreation Center.  Please see Henry Chiu for tickets if you have not already received them and Anita Hansen to volunteer. This is a wonderful event that brings together neighbors and friends. And it is a lot of fun!

 

GIVE KIDS A SHOT – organized by Uniting to Serve, a group created in 2013 by Kiwanis, Lions and Rotary Club members, Give Kids a Shot is a night of old school Motown rhythm and blues and fundraiser for the Eliminate Project, July 22, 2015 from 7-9 pm at Humphrey’s at 2241 Shelter Island Dr. SD 92106. There is no cover charge from 6-7 pm. Plan on great entertainment and an opportunity to make a difference in the lives of thousands of people.

 

THIS EVENT HAS BEEN CANCELLED -- Saturday August 8th, Divisions 11,21,31, and 37 will meet at the Lake Poway Pavilion from 10:00 to 2pm for a picnic, fun, games, prizes and programs to mark the 100th Anniversary of Kiwanis International.
