"Serving the Children of the World"

  • Commitment through service

    Nurturing the Future

They are the future. We take every care possible to enhance and enable their growth as persons and as citizens.

"Serving the Children of the World"

  • Sweat for a good cause

    Just two hills!

Every year on the last Sunday in April, we produce a world class half marathon race. It started out as a club event by members who were running in a half marathon sponsored by the La Jolla Town Council some four decades ago. Under the tender loving care of our club, this small local event grew into what it is today: A runner's festival for over 7000 participants every yer! Please visit the Half Marathon site to find out more

  • Giving back to the Community

    Pancakes Anyone?

Every 3rd Saturday in July for the past 12 years, our club invites our neighbors to join us at breakfast. Childred 10 and under are free! For detail of our last event, please see the write up in the La Jolla Light

  • Celebrating our History

    Who's up for a Parade?

If there are children, and fun for children, we are there! Community service should be fun and games! For more information on the 2014 La Jolla Christmas Parade

The memorial service for our beloved past-president, Cal Swanson, who died May 7th, will be held June 4th at 2pm at the La Jolla Presbyterian Church with a reception to follow. A military service will be held at MCAS Miramar on June 5th at 10 am.  A beautiful tribute to him is in the San Diego Union Tribune Obituaries. He was a distinguished war hero having received 2 Legions of Merit, 2 Distinguished Flying Crosses, and a Bronze Star to name just a few of his Service and Campaign Medals.

We are invited guests to the UCSD Circle K’s banquet Saturday June 6th from 5-8pm in PC Ballroom West. (Note: parking in most places on campus is free on weekends). This event is free for you! This means free food, free socializing, and free watching college students cry while seeing off the older members! They would like a head count by Wednesday June 3rd if possible. Please RSVP to Vincent Lim at kfam@ucsdcki.org.

We will have the Special Olympics World Games Torch Run happening in our Village on July 18th…we need to line the streets from the beginning point at La Jolla Shores Beach all the way through the route ending at The Cove. The La Jolla Route is at the end of this email. Special Olympics World Games Torch Run The Law Enforcement Torch Run® for Special Olympics is the Special Olympics Movement's largest grass-roots fundraiser and public awareness vehicle. At its most basic level, the Torch Run is an actual running event, in which officers and athletes run the Flame of Hope™ to the Opening Ceremony of local Special Olympics competitions as well as State, National and World Games. In 2015, the Flame of Hope will be lit from the rays of the sun in Greece, the home of the Olympics, and will travel across the sea to the United States where it will journey to communities throughout the country and Southern California, ending at the Opening Ceremony in the historic Los Angeles Memorial Coliseum.
